Introduction

This document outlines Thorn’s policies for services booked online. These policies apply to individuals only, not businesses, and may be  updated periodically. Please review them each time you book.

All services advertised by Thorn are delivered by Thomas Harris, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

The following terms and conditions have been designed to be clear and straightforward. They aim to establish a mutual understanding of how we will work together, whether through coaching sessions, document services, or online courses. If you are uncertain of any element of these  policies, please get in touch to discuss them before booking. 

While I strive to provide high-quality services, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes from coaching sessions, document services, or courses.

Services Overview

Individual Coaching Sessions

  • Sessions are either 25 or 50 minutes in length
  • Book and pay one at a time through the Client Portal
  • Standard rates: GBP 38 (50-minute) or GBP 20 (25-minute)

Session Packages

  • Pre-purchase packages of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 sessions
  • Packages offer discounted rates (larger packages = bigger discounts)
  • Unused sessions are non-refundable but valid for 5 years
  • Track your balance on the Client Portal

Document Services

  • Send a message through the Client Portal with instructions and your document
  • You’ll receive a quote based on time required
  • ‘Approve’ the quote online to lock in the price
  • Work begins after invoice payment

Online Courses

  • Courses are offered through a third-party storefront (payhip.com), not the Client Portal
  • Full course details, including access duration, will be specified on the course page before purchase
  • Access may be time-limited or lifetime, depending on the specific course
  • Certificates of completion are provided where applicable
  • Course content may be updated periodically at no additional cost during your access period
  • You will need to create a separate account on the course platform to access your purchased courses

Pricing and Payment

Rates and Pricing

  • All prices are shown in British Pounds (GBP) 
  • Coaching session rates apply as displayed on the Client Portal at time of booking and currently exclude UK VAT
  • Course prices vary based on content, duration, and resources included. As these are sold through a third-party platform, that platform may charge you VAT in addition to the course cost, depending on their own tax obligations. Additional VAT that may apply will be clearly shown on the checkout page prior to you completing your purchase. 
  • Document services may be charged per word in some circumstances

Payment Methods

  • Credit/debit cards or PayPal are accepted
  • Bank transfers are available on request for coaching and document services
  • Invoices can be issued for coaching and document services and must be paid within 7 days
  • Invoices are typically issued in GBP, but alternative currencies are available upon request
  • Interest may be charged on late payments in extreme circumstances

Card Storage

  • Card details can be saved on the Client Portal where they are stored securely using industry-standard encryption
  • Your stored card will only be charged for recurring packages with your approval
  • You can view and delete saved card details at any time through the Client Portal
  • For unsuccessful automatic payments, a manual payment link will be sent

Payment Plans

  • If you would like to discuss potential payment plans, such as monthly invoicing or subscriptions, please get in touch. Any payment plan will be subject to the terms we agree in writing, either via email or through the online chat on the Client Portal, at the time the plan is arranged.

Discounts and Special Offers

  • Session packages offer graduated discounts (the larger the package, the greater the overall discount)
  • Course promotions or bundles may be available periodically through the third-party course platform
  • Coaching clients may be eligible for exclusive course discounts, and vice versa – please enquire directly
  • Special promotional codes for courses may be offered through my newsletter or to existing clients
  • Any discount codes have specific terms attached, including expiry dates, which will be clearly communicated
  • Discount codes cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Individual Sessions

  • Sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled for free up until 12 hours before the start time. After this deadline, if you can’t make your  session it will be considered cancelled with no refund offered
  • Sessions are considered cancelled and chargeable if you haven’t joined within the first 15 minutes
  • If I am unable to attend, we’ll reschedule and apply fees to the new session

Online Courses

  • Courses are non-refundable unless otherwise specified on the course page
  • This no-refund policy is standard as courses provide immediate access to digital content
  • Technical difficulties should be reported promptly either to me or to payhip.com’s support team
  • While I cannot typically offer refunds, I am committed to ensuring you receive the content you’ve purchased
  • In extraordinary circumstances, consideration may be given on a case-by-case basis

Terms of Use

Intellectual Property

  • All course and coaching session materials, including but not limited to videos, worksheets, presentations, and supplementary resources, are protected by copyright
  • By purchasing a course, you agree to:
    • Use the materials for your personal educational purposes only
    • Not share, distribute, or resell any course or coaching content
    • Not record or reproduce coaching sessions, webinars, or video content except for your own personal use
    • Not use course materials for commercial purposes without explicit written permission
    • Not create derivative works based on the course or coaching content
  • The third-party course platform may have additional terms regarding intellectual property that you will need to agree to during registration
  • Any violation of these intellectual property terms may result in immediate termination of your access without refund and could potentially lead to legal action

Community Guidelines

For courses with discussion forums or other community features:

  • Respect the privacy and opinions of other participants
  • Refrain from sharing offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory content
  • Do not distribute course materials to non-enrolled individuals
  • Use these community spaces for the intended educational purposes only
  • Maintain confidentiality of any personal information shared by other participants
  • Constructive feedback is welcome, but please communicate respectfully
  • Do not use community spaces for unsolicited marketing or self-promotion
  • Participants who violate these guidelines may be removed from community features without refund or recourse
  • Serious violations may result in complete removal from the course without refund

Technical Requirements

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary technical capabilities to access course content before
    purchasing
  • Standard technical requirements typically include:
    • A stable internet connection
    • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera or Edge)
    • The ability to view video content (including audio)
    • The ability to download and view PDF files
    • Any additional specific requirements listed on the course page
  • The third-party course platform may have its own technical specifications or requirements
  • I am not responsible for technical incompatibilities that prevent access if they are related to your hardware, software, or internet  connection
  • For optimal experience, please ensure your devices meet the recommended specifications before purchase
  • If you have technical concerns, please contact me before purchasing a course

Course Availability

  • I strive to ensure courses remain available for the stated access period
  • In rare circumstances, the third-party platform or I may need to remove or substantially modify a course
  • If this occurs during your access period, one of the following options will typically be offered:
    • An alternative course of equal or greater value
    • Extended access to the modified version of the course
    • In exceptional cases only, a partial or full refund may be considered
  • Any changes to course availability will be communicated via the email associated with your course platform account

Additional Information

Effective Date and Updates

  • These terms are effective from April 29th, 2025
  • If I update these policies, I will make reasonable efforts to notify existing clients, but this should not be relied upon
  • It is your responsibility to review the terms periodically for changes

Severability

  • If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary
  • The remaining provisions of the terms will remain in full force and effect

Jurisdiction

  • These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales
  • Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales

  • I aim to respond to all enquiries within 2 business days
  • If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of my services, please contact me directly to discuss your concerns – I aim to address all issues promptly and professionally

Data protection

  • All data is handled in accordance with my privacy policy which can be accessed here, or those of my CRM (vcita) and the course platform (payhip.com) which can be found on their websites
